Giving back

We have many local initiatives, which colleagues organise collectively or personally, and we share stories and updates mainly through our social media channels. In addition, we’re in the process of embedding a ‘giving back’ day for colleagues, where they personally choose a local charity/community group to dedicate their day to. An example of a partnership established in the UK to enable us to support charities:


In the UK, we established a partnership with the Small Charities Coalition, organising cyber resilience training workshops to give small charities the practical tools to improve their cyber resilience.

Despite the challenge of the pandemic during 2020 we continued to invest in our commitment. Across four virtual workshops offering ad-hoc advice, and the production of four easy to understand cyber security videos, more than 10 colleagues invested over 40 hours to this commitment. As a result, 71 representatives from small charities across the UK, with an average annual income of less than £190,000, attended our virtual workshops.

Those charities play a fundamental role in their local communities, often working with vulnerable communities, or on sensitive issues, from addiction and mental heal support, to support asylum seekers, veterans, disabled children and disadvantaged communities.

Our support has extended to becoming a referral partner for the Small Charities Coalition helpdesk, so that callers with cyber security queries will be routed to our team of experts. This builds on our work with the Federation of Small Businesses’ cyber advice helpline and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre’s cyber incident helpline.

NCC Conversations: Taking action to protect the environment

As part of our ongoing NCC Conversations series, we’ve been exploring the topic of climate change and the role we, as NCC Group and individuals, must play in making a change now, to protect the environment for the future.

Our Global Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs, Yvonne Harley, went on a virtual roadshow, connecting with colleagues all around the world from her base in Scotland to check in and involve colleagues in how we can keep up with our commitment to prioritise our focus on the environment.
